“Charming resort, and perfect for a weekend getaway to South Goa!”

I visited South Goa with friends during the rainy season in July last year. South Goa was truly mesmerizing during this off-peak season, with no tourist rush. Though there was little to do or shop, as most tourist shops are shut during this time of the year, we enjoyed ourselves just soaking in the beauty of the South Goa beaches like Bogmallo that are as yet untouched by commercialization typical of north Goa beaches. We visited all the important churches, museums and palaces in old Goa, visited quaint little cafes in converted Portuguese houses near Panaji market, and tried the offshore casinos.

We stayed at Best Western Devasthali resort. It is an idyllic and cozy little resort, with beautifully decorated, luxurious and spacious rooms with attached balconies that have a forest view. The staff were unfailingly courteous. Plus, the in-room food service as well as complimentary breakfast were superb. The resort also offers a mini pool, an Ayurvedic spa and in-door board games in the lobby. Also, there was a shuttle service from the airport.
I would recommend this resort to anyone who wishes to go for a chilled out, laid-back, short vacation to South Goa.
